The Funniest Thing Ever!

Taught an assemblage workshop at my son's school Art Show yesterday. It was a blast! We did Louise Nevelson style collage using basically...garbage!!





Each kid did their own frame and then we put them all together, turned out splendidly!

Kitschy Kittens on a Quilt!!

Say that one 3 times fast!!

I have a weakness for embroidered things!! When I saw this adorable quilt I almost let out a little squeal! It has 16 different embroidered blocks of the most darling kittens...Swoon, Honeymoon, Soon are just a few of the cute scenes!!!! So sweet. Oh...I must add that it cannot stay in my home due to lack of space (or just too many purchases lately) and is available as I type on ebay!

Lovin' Leopold!

Lately I have been a bit obsessed with buying vintage children's books. The idea was to use them in art projects, but I often have time letting stuff like this go!

Leopold the See-through Crumbpicker by James Flora - how can you not love a book with a title like that?!?!





This one was published in 1961 and features the most wonderful colorful (and black and white) illustrations!





A compelling story involving cops & crumbpickers and more! Lots of action with everyone's hands up in the air!!

Oh my...the best part of Spring is the onset of rummage sales, flea markets, garage sales!! Yippee!! Junk Hunter Girl is in her element once again!!

Ready for the season??

Well, it is not quite BBQ season here with our huge Spring snowfall that surprised me this morning. It has me housebound for now, can't even get out of our neighborhood, hopefully not all day!!

Dug out this fab BBQ - Western themed tablecloth yesterday and decided to part with it. It is now awaiting a new home & will be leaving next week to the highest ebay bidder.

Here's hoping BBQ season isn't too far around the corner (melt snow melt!)

The annual Spring clean out of patterns has begun!! It is so hard to part with many of these pretties, but a necessity!! I am up to my eyeballs in envelopes of lovely vintage dress patterns and more.
